About the university
Bogdan Khmelnitsky Melitopol State Pedagogical University (BK MSPU) – is a higher education institution in the South-East of Ukraine, initially situated in Melitopol and relocated to Zaporizhzhia in May 2022 because of the war and occupation. The University primarily specializes in training teachers and educators for preschool, primary secondary, and high school, vocational, pre-higher, and higher institutions. At BK MSPU there are also study programmes for the preparation of translators/interpreters, chemists, biologists, garden therapists, ecologists, landscape designers, forestry specialists, social workers, art therapists, specialists in the hotel, restaurant, tourism spheres, speech therapists, IT specialists, trainers, choreographers, historians, economists, psychologists, sociologists, managers, lawyers.
Scientific directions of activity:
- scientific research and projects in the field of higher education, vocational education, ecology, biological diversity, information and communication technologies, social sciences etc.;
- research with awarding the Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees in the fields of preschool, secondary, vocational, and higher education, history and archeology, philosophy, economics, biology, and ecology.
Methodological directions of activity:
- elaboration and implementation of innovations, experimental programmes, and methodological materials in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Ukraine, other universities, enterprises, and non-governmental organizations within various projects and initiatives;
- coordinating the innovative educational project of the all-Ukrainian level “New Ukrainian school, university, community, government – coordination of interaction” on the developed Intellectual Platform TeachHub);
- creation of high-quality educational and methodological support for the educational process (textbooks, educational and educational and methodological aids, methodological recommendations, lecture notes, anthologies).
Educational directions of activity:
- delivering continuing professional development events, courses and support to educators from various fields and levels;
- training educators to obtain Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD degrees;
- postgraduate studies in the fields of preschool, secondary, vocational, and higher education, history and archeology, philosophy, economics, biology, and ecology.
