About university
University of Vlore has been established in 1994, as a public higher education institution, in Vlora City, Albania. The university plays a key role in the regional development and community life. About 300 academic staff work fulltime offering educational and research services for the students and the community in the region, establishing a fully committed faculty and excellent programs that prepare them to be leaders in the new global economy. The students can find at Vlora university a wide variety of programs in social sciences and engineering, business, public health, medical studies, etc.
Our academic programs are established under the Bologna Accord. Currently UV provides three levels of studies. A strong core of liberal arts and sciences is the basis on which undergraduates develop the skills, knowledge, and attitudes essential for successful living and active, concerned citizenship. A variety of majors and specialized curricula prepare students for post-baccalaureate education, professional schools, or careers directly after graduation. Each program provides a variety of courses and curricular experiences to ensure an enriched life along with superior career preparation or enhancement.
Four faculties situated in three buildings in the centre of Vlora city , and also research centres develop scientific and academic activities through the collaboration with many international and european institution and bodies, becomming more attractive and having crucial place between local institutions for regional development.
The university has been acredited two times institutionally by an international agency, expert in HEI quality acreditation. Also all bachelor and master programs have been acredited recently , achieving the objectives of the institution strategy. In the field of internacionalization, UV has signed many agreements and nowdays it is reliable partner in many European projects under Erasmus Plus Programme, INTERREG IPA II programme, Horizon, etc.
