3rd Transnational Project Meeting in Albania
From October 9 to 11, Ismail Qemali University in Vlore, Albania, hosted an event to discuss the results of the Erasmus+ project titled “MOOC-based micro-credentials for teacher professional development”. This Meeting brought together an impressive consortium of partners from Germany, Ukraine, Portugal, Estonia, Turkey, Montenegro, and Albania.
During the third Transnational Project Meeting, representatives from each participating country presented their institutional programs incorporating micro-qualifications. These programs leverage the potential of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) to provide tailored professional development opportunities for educators, enabling them to acquire specific skills and knowledge relevant to their evolving needs.
Most of the meeting focused on the presentation of institutional Micro-credentials Frameworks. Each partner shared their progress in developing micro-credential systems within their institutions, fostering an engaging discussion on their designs, implementation strategies, and alignment with country standards. Constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement were exchanged, emphasizing collaboration as a cornerstone for project success.
Beyond framework discussions, the agenda also delved into critical aspects of the project, including dissemination and communication strategies to maximize reach and impact. Quality assurance was another pivotal topic, with partners exploring ways to ensure the credibility and recognition of these micro-qualifications across different educational systems and labor markets. The discussions extended to the technical infrastructure required for the seamless delivery of MOOC-based micro-credentials, highlighting innovations in digital learning environments.
The Ukrainian universities involved in the project also provided updates on procuring essential equipment to support their participation. This step is crucial in enabling them to implement the project effectively despite challenges posed by ongoing external circumstances.
The three-day event underscored the transformative potential of the Erasmus+ project in redefining teacher professional development through micro-qualifications. By fostering a shared vision and pooling expertise from diverse contexts, the partnership aims to establish a robust framework that empowers educators to adapt to the dynamic demands of the education sector.
