participants of the conference in the last sessionIn the framework of WP 5 Dissemination activities, an International Conference titled “Building Competencies: Micro-Credentials for Growth and Excellence” was held on 10 October, 2024, at the University of Ismail Qemali in Vlorë, Albania. This event brought together representatives from partner universities in Germany, Ukraine, Portugal, Estonia, Turkey, Montenegro, and Albania, as well as experts and beneficiaries in micro-credential development and implementation. The conference promoted micro-credentials for teachers’ professional development through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

Approximately 200 teachers and researchers participated, discussing contemporary alternatives aligned with European standards for enhancing teacher training and qualifications, and emphasizing the transformative role of micro-credentials. The University of Ismail Qemali and all other beneficiary partners, through the implementation of micro-credentials, aimed to offer an effective and tailored approach to professional development, allowing teachers to focus on acquiring specific skills and knowledge directly relevant to their practice. The conference provided an excellent opportunity to learn from renowned experts and practitioners at the forefront of teacher education and micro-certifications, addressing teachers’ needs through innovative approaches to quality assurance and recognition of micro-certificates.

The event featured 15 presentations across 5 panels and 4 sessions with 22 scientific papers, demonstrating excellent, inclusive collaboration that values and supports continuous learning for all teachers, not only in Vlorë but also nationally and internationally. This international conference, with distinguished speakers and representatives from significant higher and pre-university education institutions such as UV, MASR, ASCAP, and ZVA Vlorë, as well as experts from the CRED4TEACH project, showcased a comprehensive collaboration, promoting and supporting continuous learning for all teachers.
